We went to Munnar on third weekend of the 11th month of the 2009th year. We are traveled from Chennai to Coimbatore to atten jaya prakash (JP) Anna’s marriage. In our team with capacity of 7 members while traveling in train. Who are Me, My brother @karthickraja , Deepak @peerlessdeepak, Lakshminarayanan @laksram , Ashok kumar @ashokjjr , Gopbinath @gopiguna85 and Vinoth anna’s @vinothkumara. We traveled in the 3rd AC compartment of blue mountain express.
After reached destination station team gets increased by one was Ram Anna at that time only he joined in our team. Vehicle has been already arranged for us that was arrived with in ten minutes to the railway station from we detrain, vehicle was Chevrolet tavera. All of us get well packed in that vehicle to reach our home, while traveling only we have planned to visit munnar upto that time we thinking about ooty or vallparai . Due to heavy rain that two places was rejected. While traveling to home there was heaving rain, we have doubt, going finish our trip or not. With in an hour reached our home. At time of 5’o clock our team size was increased by one, that member who was the special guy to our team Saravanan (Gobi), who gives us more fun by banter him. With in two hours we reached the marriage hall and ASA leaved from marriage to start our trip.
We started our trip by leaving one person who went to his home due to personal work... who was Gobi anna not saravan(Gobi). During tavel we heared lots of beat songs gives more enthusiasm for us.While approaching near to pollachi saw more numbers wind mills installed in road nearby lands. We stopped our vehicle one place to have (pathaneer and noonggu ) in tamil. I enjoyed lot in having that after a long time.
We started to continue our journey; and reached the check post; near to that there was thunder coconut shop. We have fill our fuel to us by coconut and coconut water and at by time most od them get shocked on the price,there was only 50% of price for coconut compared to Chennai price.
With in an hour we reached the first spot of our trip that was Alliyar Dam in tamil nadu it is a small reservoir situated near Pollachi.
It is located about 65 km from Coimbatore and it is found on the foothills of Valparai.The dam is one of the longest in Asia - around 2 km in length. The scenery is absolutely beautiful, mountains surrounding three quarters of the reservoir. The dam is located on the foothills of Valparai, in the Anamalai range of the Western Ghats.
The dam offers some ideal getaways including a aquarium and a mini Park.
That was lunch time but not had the lunch just got some chilli bajji and lime soda to get some energy to roam the dam. We reached into the top place of the dam. That was the very hot place in our trip. In that dam office only the famous sathiyaraj film aamathipadai election result announcement scene has been taken. A week back only I watched that film. Finally we spent some time there and came down. There was one aquarium opposite to the dam. We visited there and ate some fish fry outside the aquarium.
Our expectations get started enter into the thick forest, with in a 20 minutes we have seen the single elephant crossing the road, we are lucky to see that
One particular point there was small falls but no provision to enjoy the falls. Rocks where fully slippery, so can’t enjoy more.
Near to that falls there was a small tea shop in that I buy the salt water sink Indian gooseberry(neelikai), its nice to have that and have cup of strong milk I think the time was 6’o clock while leaving from there . It’s so cool while traveling at night time in hill station.
After some distance we traveled into the mist. That was the first time I’m traveling in mist with high moisture.
After reached munnar we searching for hotels and finally get in to good hotel and comfortable one. On that night have a heavy dinner with our favorites foods. Here also not so much cost only 50% compared when to Chennai. Back to hotel and have a deep sleep with full covered blankets and monkey cap.Early morning we went to pleasant walk.
Next day started with boating. They given safety jacket while traveling in boat we choose speed boat for our boating. Boating nicely ended with more joy. We stopped one spot have nice greenery. We took photos there, now using this photo as desktop background.
Next point visited was a nice place to scream for voice, that was “ECHO echo EcHo eChO” echo point. All of our only screamed the name “Gobi” and got good echo for that,after a while we realized that only high frequency voice get echoed. So we whistled to get echo.
Next point we visited to a small dam. We took lots of photos by jumping from small tree. These jumping photos are now display pictures of two members profile. Here also we went to boating but not with help on any external force, we used paddle boat and rowing boat. We tried hard to row the boat to go at least 200 meters away, in this we had one restriction was need to come back in 30 minutes. Anyhow we tried something new to us. That’s great too.
Finally reached top station ,there was very bad roads, we asked the driver why it’s so bad. He answered it was Tamil nadu state sir.Oh great Tamil nadu government. There also full of mist with high moisture.
There was big tragedy was happen, two of our team has donated their blood to leeches, are @ashokjjr and @karthickraja. I feel bad on one thing was my damm digit camera battery comes down quickly. so not have taken more pictures of natural sceneries.
We ended our trip with full of joy and start back to catch the train. while returning we stopped the vehicle in same small falls and have a tea on that same shop. We hurried up to cross the check post before 7PM, we started from there,at that time I seated in front of vehicle and got a chance to saw a deer crossing our tavera. After crossed all the forest check posts ,we said our driver to drive slowly in the forest area road bcoz there might be chance of see elephant once again .Unfortunately not seen any elephant on the road side. Finally Trip ends with enjoyment and sweets memories of my life... :)
